database unlock

I have an exisitng 2 databases that are used for a purpose which were purchased and pay an on going fee for, how ever the databases I need to update and use some preffered data to input into. Most of the authors of these databases are not willing to allow my add ons how ever the platform, design and efficiency of these are fantastic. I basically wish to use them in there existing format but add some fields for my personal use to this data base. I dont want to loose the way I currently can update data as it is very time saving and efficient. I am unsure if this is achievable or not. I can let people share my screen to see or I can send the over all file to assess the possibility of achieveing.
