Do you have good skills in Linux and Python? Do you know the Amazon EC2 environment (or are you willing to pick it up quickly)? Then, this job might interest you..
The idea is to "spin up" a sever on Amazon that will start querying Twitter and then store the results. These results will be available for download over http and also sent to Google Fusion Tables.
What you would do is to write a Python script that will run when a Linux instance is started in Amazon's EC2 environment. The script should be in URL that is passed into the "User Data" of the instance. All authentication information that is needed should be passed in through the user data, not put in the script. Also, a list of search terms and places to search on will be set in a URL in the user data. This approach is used here [login to view URL], for example. The instance will install any needed software and then proceed to query Twitter for a given list of places and keywords, storing the results in a text file which is available for download over http, and piping the results to Google Fusion Tables as well, for an example of the API see this: [login to view URL]
The client is planning to publish the script in an open format (some open source or open content license), so use of open source libraries in this project may be OK if you need them and we agree.
One we can test and use the script successfully, the job is complete and you get paid! We'll also credit you when we publish the software, if that is acceptable to you.
Please read the project first and write the word "Understood". Also write your steps and suggestions to complete the project with a short description of what you understood..
I have Understood your requirements. I have been working on AWS as well as App engine for my personal projects for quite some time now and I think this can be done easily.
