Computer Workstation

The Project: I am seeking a qualified designer to assist me with the drafting and design of a computer workstation with a unique value proposition. The specifics concerning this value proposition will be concealed for the time being, in the interests of IP protection. Upon receipt of a signed NDA that I will provide to interested applicants, I will be more than glad to share these details with you. I have separated this project into three very general milestones. Keep in mind this structure is tentative and can easily be adjusted to find a working agreement that works between us. 1) Conceptual Design: This stage will consist of a two or three back-and-forth drafting sessions between you (or your team) and I, where we will discuss ideas and expectations concerning this product and iterate basic sketches until we arrive on something we want to commit to. 2) CAD: We will take this sketch and produce it in CAD or any acceptable equivalent, producing files that can be presented to manufacturers. During this stage we will discuss the specifics of this design in a manner similar to above, discussing how we want particular components to look/feel/operate/etc, and translate that into 3d design for manufacturing. 3) Manufacturing: Naturally manufacturing realities will present problems concerning product design, requiring us to work together to devise solutions. This final phase will hopefully only consist of edits to existing designs, but may also require complete redesigns of components. The Designer: Due to the specific nature of this project I am looking, ideally, for a designer that has the following personal/professional attributes (among others). Keep in mind that the following attributes are not strictly necessary, but are definitely valuable to me. - P.C. Gamer: This project is to be designed for a niche market of committed PC gamers. A personal understanding of the needs, wants, and expectations of this market and the culture surrounding it will translate into a design informed by this understanding. As such, any applicant that can substantiate their membership in this market will provide themselves a competitive edge above applicants not familiar with PC gaming. - Manufacturing Experience: The ability for a designer to anticipate problems in manufacturing before presenting designs to a manufacturer is extremely valuable to me. By substantiating experience in the design of multi-part products for medium-to-large scale manufacturing, you will definitely make the short list of candidates.
