A software solution is required for load balancing single streams of data (e.g. compressed streaming AV) across multiple low bandwidth physical connections on Windows NT kernels. (We have solved this on Linux ??" see below, but require you to implement a similar solution on Windows NT kernels) Problem: There are multiple low bandwidth ppp modem connections available to the internet from one physical host, each one approx 200kbs upload capacity. We plan on using approx 5 together on one host at once. To provide a nominal 1Mb/s upload capacity These modem connections are not reliable so loss of one can happen at any time. A high bandwidth stream of compressed AV data is to be reliably transmitted from this host to a server on the internet in one data stream. We have implemented a solution on Linux using the following setup: 1. Using vtun to create Ethernet tunnels over the ppp links from the host to our own server. 2. Bonding these Ethernet devices together using Linux Ethernet bonding. 3. Assigning an IP address to the bonded devices on each end of the link and manipulating the routing tables to route AV stream data down this bonded device. This gives us load balancing and redundancy across the modem links and allows us to just point our AV stream at our server address. Logical configuration Client host Server host ??"tap0 ??" ppp0 --- ppp0??"tap0 IP1 ??" bond0-----tap1??"ppp1---- ppp1??"tap1 ---- bond0 ??"IP2 -tap2 ??" ppp2 ---- ppp2??"tap2 Deliverables: Kernel or user level drivers. Startup and shutdown scripts to initiate the link based on a configuration file. If this is natively possible in NT, then just start/stop scripts config files and detailed instructions are required. ## Deliverables Deliverables: Kernel or user level drivers. Startup and shutdown scripts to initiate the link based on a configuration file. If this is natively possible in NT, then just start/stop scripts config files and detailed instructions are required. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows NT Kernels
