BEAR’S GRILLS & SPITS 1. Client Background Bear’s Grill Hire is a newly formed business who: a) Hire out SPIT ROAST for cooking meats b) Hire out SPIT ROAST and a CHEF c) Complete Catering Packages with meat and salads Our particular client in this instance is extremely anal with what he wants and very particular about his requirements. Fortunately for us and you, most of the things he wants can be achieved with plugins that already exist. 2. Site Set-Up Homepage Although the site set-up itself will look simple, it has some intricate requirements. The homepage should look crisp and clear, with use of colours in the logo and branding – which will be provided to the successful bidder immediately. Images on the website need to zoom in and pop up in front of you, the site fades in the background and the image opens in a new window in the centre of the screen. Images and content need to be easy to change. 3. CMS Please use Magento as there will be a shopping cart involved. 4. Menu Bars The menu bar can be up top or down the side – there is no preference. It should also be included as a footer. The page titles/menu bar should have the following titles: - Home - Spit Roasting Machines - Catering Menus - Testimonials - Contact Us 5. Flash & Graphics I would like some moving graphics above the top menu bar alongside the logo. They will look like an advertising banner – i.e. long but relatively thin. I want to include images such as a spit roast turning where you can see the flames and the meat cooking. Client is very particular about this. Images of spits and parties will be provided by us. 6. Special Features The client has requested a couple of special features which involve some integral development skill. These are as follows: a) A shopping cart for the deposit or payment of the spit roast hire or catering This needs to be set up using forms – where an enquirer can access a quote and pay for it at the same time. b) Client wants an SMS and EMAIL alert whenever anyone makes a payment or requests a free quote. c) Client wants people to be able to book machines online. This could be done using a plugin such as one a motel/hotel would use for room hire. The client needs to be able to change the prices and see that a machine is booked out for a certain date. Visitors to the site need to see the same thing also. The WOTIF website for accommodation uses something like we require. There must be plugins available for this. d) Client also wants video integration. YouTube embed style video is satisfactory. At least two of these on the homepage and set where they fit. e) Client wants some sort of inventory counter. This can be incorporated in the part c) request. As a motel has a certain number of rooms on a day, this client has a certain number of machines. You may not have to list each machine, just the type of machine. I know at this point that there are 3 different types of machines. This may make it easier. As any given point in time, the client wants to be able to go onto the website and see how many machines he has FREE on any given date. A counter needs to be displayed showing this to both the client and the site visitors. f) Client has requested Flashpics where possible. g) Client wants you to make their site better than there major competitors. Client Requests Client just basically wants something functional, easy to change and appeals visually to people who visit the site. The site needs to do more than what is out there. Client wants the site to be self-sufficient in the future. 8. Budget We are hopeful that you can complete this job for up to $1250USD, are able to communicate via skype to make changes and that you can adhere to the client deadline of 26th AUGUST 2011 (for final site)
