Database Repair

I run a web site that provides a daily trivia question every day via a mail list. The question and answer is also posted on our web site. Someone developed a database for me where I go to a control page for the database, add a new questions, answer, category, and date for the question and based on the date, the question automatically updates on my main page which is a php file utilizing an include. I recently moved over to a different server (a VPS) and the database was migrated over via my new web hosting company. Since the migration, the database is no longer working and we cannot figure out what is wrong. It is still pulling the last question that was entered into the database before the migration but it seems that when I go to enter a new question into the DB form, it is not working because the question and answer are not changing. Also, the search function for the database is no longer working either. So, as you can see, I have a database set up but something is just a miss since its move and I need that looked into and repaired.
