I need an VB 6.0 application that creates a pdf from a? crystal reports.?
We will use Visual Basic 6.0 and Crystal Reports 6.0, no exceptions!!!
The pdf will be created in folder without any interaction from the user. Use whatever folder name or word doc name you like.
Please indicate your solution and cost.!!!!!!
My preference would be 995PDF but I would be willing to consider all suggestions.
Here is some code I downloaded from the 995PDF website.[[login to view URL]][1]. You can use it or develope you own.
1. Before printing :
GetPrivateProfileString(TEXT("Parameters"),TEXT("ProcessPDF"), "", szprocesspdf, sizeof(szprocesspdf), GetPdf995Path() + "pdf995\\res\\[login to view URL]");
szDefaultProcessPDF = szprocesspdf;
WritePrivateProfileString(TEXT("Parameters"),TEXT("ProcessPDF"), applicationthatdeletesflagfilethatyousupply, GetPdf995Path() + "pdf995\\res\\[login to view URL]");
HANDLE hndFlag = CreateFile(GetPdf995Path() + "pdf995\\flag", GENERIC_WRITE, 0, NULL, CREATE_ALWAYS, FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL, NULL); CloseHandle(hndFlag);
2. Print to pdf995. When pdf995 created the pdf, it will call applicationthatdeletesflagfilethatyousupply. That will delete the flag file. Wait as follows until the pdf is complete:
CFileStatus status;
CString szRoot = GetPdf995Path();
while(CFile::GetStatus( szRoot + "pdf995\\flag", status ))
{
Sleep(100);
}
Sleep(100);
WritePrivateProfileString(TEXT("Parameters"),TEXT("ProcessPDF"), szDefaultProcessPDF, GetPdf995Path() + "pdf995\\res\\[login to view URL]");

Thank you to all who posted on this project. Just to let you know I am using Crystal Reports 6.0 and VB 6.0. No exceptions. After the pdf is created the VB program will automatically attach the pdf file to an email and the email sent. So I am looking for you to provide me with a solution that creates the pdf file then attaches it to an email. One of the problems is that the VB program has to be able to detect when the file has been completely created before it tries to attach the file or it will error out.
