Problem:
I have a Chromecast and often find myself wanting to stream DVDs I rent or video files saved to my computer. However, there is only one way to cast them to my TV and that's through a chrome tab. The problem of doing that is the video quality is horrible. Very choppy and lagging, not even close to Netflix or Hulu quality.
Concept:
I am looking to create a simple MAC/PC software video player that upon downloading and installing allows users to stream their dvds and saved video files in perfect quality to their TV.
Is this possible? I have not seen anything on the market that does this so there is a demand
.
I'd like to use the open source VLC Player to create this casting software. I want to strip down the unneeded advanced features, create a simple and easy to use interface with a sleek design, rename it, and package that for Mac and PC so users can now cast dvds and downloaded videos to their TV's.
