Can my PC automatically ascertain when courses are available

I'm not sure how involved this would be, but I'm registering for courses, and a particularly choice/necessary course is completely full. Once a day, I visit my college's website ([url removed, login to view]), and search to see whether there are seats open. But I feel the process would be more efficient if some program could automatically check to see whether there are seats available, and if so, alert me via e-mail or preferably via a message on the screen (or both), or even automatically register me for the course. The course website does require me to log in prior to my searching for an opening, but there is no captcha. It's just a username & password. How complicated is this to set up? Thanks.
