Create a guestlist and seating interactive java tool -- 3

i need to make something extremely similar to this:

guestlist manager for event with seating chart

it is also seen in [url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view], and many others. they all seem to work identically, some are flash, some run on html, and the first example is simply javascript.

i need to create something just like this but dont know where to start. i was trying to see if the was an open source code for something similar that i can work off of and modify, or if it already exists and i just dont know exactly what to search for. please help!

no idea how to even start

needs to be user specific, where users can make and save their own to edit later. the site is powered by joomla and jomsocial.

user logs into their profile

after logging, they have 'tabs' for their profile. we will be making one of these tabs 'guestlist'

inside this tab is where they will be presented with this plugin, private for only thier view.

they will have the button for "Guest List & RSVPs" and "Seating Chart"

"events" as seen in weddding mapper is unessesary as they will only be having one event through my service.

they will be greeted with the functions to add members to their guestlist, similar to [url removed, login to view], however, to add a guest to the guestlist, i want to follow the following formats and functions only: (please be sure to create an account on [url removed, login to view] so you can see its logistics). some weddingmapper functions are not necessary, below is all i need:

in main menu:

list guests the same way,

'party name'

'# in party'.

"guestlist" not neccessary as they wont have more than one.

'guests'

"invited" not necessary i dont want anything regarding this feature in any area.

'rvsp' yes - or - no. chckable from this view.

"Meal" not necessary i dont want anything regarding this feature in any area.

i want the export to excell and import from excell options.

sorting options: PArty name, guest lastname, first name, RSVP yes/no

ADDING A NEW GUEST:

fields:

'party name'

"guestlist" not necessary

'# in party'

'address' - note as optional

"hotel" not necessary

Guest #1 (and 2, 3,.... etc)

'First name'

'last name'

'phone' - note as optional

'email' -not as optional

Seating requirements:

(copy from weddingmapper exactly as is.)

SEATING CHART:

guests can be seated whether rsvp is yes or no. please dont copy weddingmapper where they block this feature. however, if a guest rsvp is "no", please make color of person in seat 'red'

table drag and drop the same way. same options for new table as well.

Circle table, rectangle table, and special area. please add a 'square' table. default can be 2 on each side.

drag and drop guests the same way, with option to add the whole party. also, please not the 'seating' requirement, who can or cannot or must sit next to each other.

make sure everything is savavble, printable, and exportable similar to weddingmapper.

so everything is typically the same as weddingmapper, with a few less features easier on you!
