We maintain a directory of local businesses and two mysql tables that contain information about those businesses. Currently we maintain these tables in phpmyadmin and just edit the rows directly. Recently some of these businesses have been requesting the ability to "claim" their listing and update some of the missing or incorrect records. Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to create a Yelp like system that allows a business owner to "claim" a listing, create an account in our database, verify their e-mail address, edit details of the business & upload photos of the business. We are flexible on your choice of framework as long as it is well known and well documented (Zend, Symfony, CI, Laravel) You will NOT be expected to be a designer, BUT you will be expected to know how to use HTML/CSS well enough that you can reference our existing style sheets. Once you are all done our designer will tweak the interface. This PHP app will be running on Google App Engine (GAE) in a /subdirectory off of the main domain. GAE has it's own idiosyncrasies about uploading files and sending e-mail (it isn't hard, just a little different), so before applying, please be sure to take a brief look at GAE. Dev Environment: GAE provides totally free accounts and a git interface to deploy, you'll be expected to deploy to your own *.[login to view URL] domain, we will provide you with a duplicate of the two mysql tables that contain business information. About us: We are developers too, we are just super swamped doing our in house projects so we are here for you to discuss table schema, app functionality etc.. etc... About you: You are not a dev shop. You are a talented independent coder who is looking for some side work that might turn into more side work.
