We are currently using Htmlarea WYSIWYG editor and would like to add to it drop down menus as well as make it pop up in a stand alone resizable window rather than as part of the web page.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. Bloki, [login to view URL] currently uses the htmlarea 3.0 editor. The editor works with either IE 5.5+ or Mozilla 1.3+. The current version of the editor lets you create a textarea that will be editable in a form We would like the editor to look and feel like a standard Word Processor/editor including the following features. * The editor should use the full size of the window and when the window is resized the editor is resized too. This is already implemented in the "Enlarge Editor" option in the current version. You will need to adapt this feature to the regular editor. * The editor should have a set of drop down menus where the user can choose both built in options as well as server related options. o The server related options should only be place holders, they don't need to do anything. For instance the save button needs to submit the form to the server and this is a function that will be implemented by us. You need to just add the menu item. o The editor options should do the equivalent of what the buttons do. So the cut menu should do the same thing as the cut button, the undo menu item should do the same as the undo button, etc. The location of the file, view, etc menus as well as the items underneath shoult try and follow the standard locations of this item in programs such as MS Word, Open Office, etc. You will need to find a freely available dhtml drop down menu library to implement the menus. o Here's a sample of menu items. + FIle # New # Save # Save As # ... + Edit # Cut # Copy # Paste # Undo # Redo # ... ... Resources * The bloki editor is based on Htmlarea 3.0. which is discussed in [login to view URL] and is available for download at [login to view URL];postatt_id=263;t=search_engine * Look at [login to view URL] where MS describes how to construct an editor. At the bottom of the page right before the "Final Wrap-up" there's a "Show Me" button that will display an editor with a look and feel very similar to what we're asking in here. This will, of course, only work in IE. Do not use any of the source in here, since it's not clear what the copyright restricitons are. * [login to view URL] has a variety of drop down menus as well as other dhtml resources Testing * Test the features in Mozilla * Test the features in IE
