We make new sails and repair old ones. We currently use Act to track our new-sail leads and customers. We have no such system on the repair side, and need a better way to track information about customers who walk in the door. We would like someone to build an Access database for this and link it to Act.
Customers in Act may come in several times a year bringing us a repair job. Each "job" may have one or more sails associated with it. Each sail will have 10 to 15 pieces of information we need to record.
Primary contact information would remain in Act. Access would store "job" data as well as "sail" data (separate linked tables). This data would be accessible through Act, so when a customer returned one day we would have previous job and sail data available.
We would want the coder to:
1) build the Access database, its component tables, and necessary queries.
2) build the link between Act and Access. An off-the-shelf solution such as ActAccess would be preferable to expedite the process and allow subsequent modification/expansion.
3) build three reports that combine Act (contact) and Access (job/sail) data into hard copy. Sample reports will be provided.
This is the next in a step of expansions. The one after this integrates this information with another Access database and shares the data on PDAs.
## Deliverables
1) Access database with tables, queries, and reports. Very little VB work -- keep it "Access" simple so I or future help can understand an modify it. K.I.S.S.
2) Act-Access linking mechanism, set up and ready to function.
## Platform
Windows 2000, Access 2000, Act 6.0
