The project is simple. I am attempting to work with Access 2k. I am a beginner at it, but I'm learning a great deal. I need someone to explain the following with example code:
1. I have database. It has about 30k records. It has text, along with date and numbers.
2. I know how to do select and make table queries, but I'd like to have a great deal of control over the database.
3. I'd like to go through each record and be able to compare and modify record items and store the information to a new table.
4. I;ve tried the queries and some SQL , but I think I would have more control by using Visual Basic with Access, I'm not sure.
5. I've tried ADO with recordset, but I'm unable to get any functional code.
6. I would like to have someone explain with code the proper way to get going with this project.
7. In summary, I'm trying to do the following:
Open a Table
Go through each record
If a date< 9/27/05 change this to 10/12/05
if a value = x change another field
Create a new table with the new data in the specific columns, keep the format of the original table. Then create a report.
Mainly, I'd like to manipulate Access 2k data using Visual Basic.
I have question such as: I'm not sure if it's better to use the Visual Basic inside Access or Visual Basic 6.0 which I own.
