I would like to populate a TStringList with all of the key values and record numbers from a Clipper .NTX index file. Information on the file structure can be found at [login to view URL]
I need a super-fast block read of all the index pages in to a TStringlist with the record numbers for each stored in the .Objects property.
The tree does *not* need to be traversed in sequence, as I feel that would slow things considerably and I am looking for fast. I can always sort the string list after it is loaded.
Here is the function template:
function LoadNTXIndexKeys(
const FileName:string; //fully qualified pathname of .NTX file
var List:TStringList; // if nil, create the list
):Boolean; //function returns TRUE if file is valid NTX file and was loaded, False in all other circumstances
Only undeleted records should be returned. I don't want any access on the .DBF file at all. The .NTX header will have to be examined to determine the key length for each entry.
Thanks for reading! Please only respond if you can do this for me very quickly, as the reason I am using RentACoder is to save time or I would do it myself.
I am attaching a couple of NTX files for testing purposes.
