Delphi - CachedUpdates Procedure

Need a procedure that will programmatically update the InsertSQL and ModifySQL properties of a TUpdateSQL component at run-time. The procedure call would be something like: PopulateUpdateSQL(Query:TQuery; UpdateSQL:TUpdateSQL); The TUpdateSQL component passed in would already have existing InsertSQL, DeleteSQL, and ModifySQL properties. Only the fields list portion of these properties should be updated by this command. Programmatically I want this procedure to function the same as when during design time the UpdateSQLEditor is used to retrieve the database fields, and generate the SQL. The only difference is the key fields data should be read from the existing properties and not updated. The TQuery object that is passed in is the Dataset that the TUpdateSQL pertains to; it will be active; and the field list data can be read from this object. For instance if the existing ModifySQL for the TUpdateSQL was update taaZipCode set ZIP = :ZIP, STATE = :STATE, CITY = :CITY, COUNTY = :COUNTY where ZIP = :OLD_ZIP and the schema had an additional field not listed in the current UpdateSQL of AREACODE, the procedure should rebuild the field list and update the ModifySQL to be: update taaZipCode set ZIP = :ZIP, STATE = :STATE, CITY = :CITY, COUNTY = :COUNTY, AREACODE = :AREACODE where ZIP = :OLD_ZIP this procedure would generate a new field list on the fly, based on the current data schema from the database for that Table. This revised field list would be substituted above. We use cached updates in conjunction with Query objects extensively in our applications, and this procedure would dynamically create the UpdateSQL on the fly. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
