Add com port function to my program.

Disclosure: I'm a hardware guy that can fake my way through embedded programming and some windows console programming but dealing with the com ports is over my head. I have some specific hardware test equiptment (Data Acquisition Unit) that is controlled by the computer (via a USB connection) and is already programmed by myself to run in C++ in a windows console. The control functions are 100% complete and functioning. The hardware then sends a continuous string of data back to the com port which I can easily see useing hyperterminal. The data refresh rate is slightly greater than one line per second. My test needs to run for about 16 hours which would create literally THOUSANDS of lines if I captured everything in hyperterminal. Not an option. My program currently captures data once every 30 seconds and sends the data to a CSV file. Would like to take the latest information from the com port and send that infomation to the CSV file at the same 30 second event.

## Deliverables

1) Without use of the Data Acquisition Unit, the coder will have no way to verify if the code works properly or not. Expect "best attempt" with comments so I know what "should" happen and can hopefully troubleshoot the code myself from there. 2) Without access to the special libraries, coder will not be able to compile program to eliminate errors. Coder will need to install special libraries and DLL's and deliver code that can be compiled with Visual C++ 6.0.
