convert legal-sized PDF to two images

When we print a taller than regular letter-sized PDF document (think automobile purchase contract size) to a regular-sized piece of paper (8 1/2 x 11\"), it tries to fit to printable area, and scales the document so it\'s very skinny on the page and becomes illegible.\r\n\r\nWe want to be able to print a PDF so the one tall page prints to multiple pages; it should scaled to letter sized width, not degrade the quality, and output as many pages as necessary to print the entire document. We envision a virtual printer we could call directly. We prefer the solution to be in VB.net, C# if necessary.
