We want to have a Master-Master relationship on 2 servers so that there is fail-over reliability. Each server will carry a full copy of the data and can be accessed by applications / services as though they are one and the same. You will fully document the steps that you took to install the database relationship, so we can make later changes, migrate the servers etc without problems if we want / need to. On completion you will demonstrate that the service is working and replicating properly on both servers. We are working from an existing database, so you will either need to make the first database into the master-master relationship or, you must export the full existing database and import to the new arrangement (if you cant work from the original). The servers are currently installed with CentOS but, as we will be making a fresh image we may instead install Ubuntu. You should SPECIFY before starting if you require one or the other OS for some operational / own familiarity. We dont mind which is installed.

CentOS or ubuntu both will work. I can replicate either selective databases or all databases (except for "mysql" database). Replication will be true master to master and you will get all the documentation. If you want to monitor the replication and want to get alert incase replication is broken then this can be also done but at additional cost. Regards usman

Hi there, I will do the setup of Master-Master Replication on MySQL Server with CentOS as my preferred OS. I hope you already have Load Balance and a private network setup between both the mysql server, provided by your hosting company. Quick Questions: 1. How big is your database ? 2. Do you have Load Balancer configured OR your application will auto switch incase 1 server goes down. 3. All the tables in the database has a primary key with auto-increment ? Regards, Pratik

Hello there. I'm experienced Linux system administrator, so I can help you with this project. I prefer CentOS. Could you please tell me your database(s) size? I'm asking this, because I prefer to test everything twice on testing environment first and then move on to the production(I can test on my own local virtual servers, if you don't mind). Each server has its own configuration, monitorization, backup etc. If you are interested I can give you more details about my work. about your project: I do this kind of things for a few of servers that I manage. (for failover) From my point of view it's better to use CentOS 6.x x64. And a new version of mysql. Can you tell me what mysql engine do you use ? innodb mysam or what ? I am an experienced Linux administrator. I can authenticate myself so you could be sure that I will do no harm to your server / services nor abuse your data. Also, I am ready to sign NDA if needed. I can be verified for example by VAT EU number. I prefer Debian (current stable release: Wheezy). Ubuntu is pretty much Debian so if I would have to choose between CentOS and Ubuntu I would go with Ubuntu. But please note that hose are just my preferences, I could work within any environment. Of course if you are willing to make fresh image then you could go with one server, create sync (original db <-> new db) then go with original server migration. cheers, Szymon Łapiński
