Developement of an E learning Platform for ICARDA (www.icarda.org)

Objective To serve as platform for on-line courses offered by ICARDA: web-based tool or platform that offers standard e-learning functions including virtual classrooms, chat areas, streaming video and powerpoint, group spaces Tools - General information about ICARDA and CDU accessible to all visitors - General online courses description available to all visitors, online registration for request to access to online training courses - Only people who have been selected and fully registered would be given the access. - Database linked to the online registration : Trainees will have to register for the course (on-line) and once accepted to join the course they will be given pass-code to access the material (on-line) - Download and upload materials on the site - Interactive site containing: Materials: Powerpoint, PDF, Word texts, Video s, Pictures + Multiple choice questionnaires + Online Assessment tests + Trainees will be given assignments that they would have to download from and re-upload to the platform and should be given instructions on how to do it - Stream parts of courses on the website through the e-learning platform and using a chatting system for interactive discussion between the trainer and the trainees - Interactive online: classroom or meeting room where specific people are invited to attend. There is no need for interactive real-time learning right now, as this requires high resolution at the receiving side (mostly underprivileged areas).
