Booking app for a driving school.
Bookings will be initially taken over the phone and a profile will be made for the student. An instructor will then be allocated to that student. Each instructor will have access to the bookings on their own device in their car (a tablet or possibly a phone, the app should be primarily optimized for tablets). The instructors will then be able to make additional bookings on their device for each student. They will also be able to manage accounts for example if a student buys a package of 5 lessons and had already completed two there will be a note on their account saying 3 lessons remaining. At the end of each lesson both the students and the instructors need to sign a record sheet, they should be able to do this on the device with a stylus.
Student profiles should include:
• Name
• Date of birth
• Parents name
• Licence number
• Licence expiry date
• Current hours
• Licence conditions (e.g. "S"= must wear glasses at all times)
• Address
• Any alternate pickup locations (e.g. Boyfriend’s house, singing lessons, work, soccer practice)
• School/Uni/College
• Contact numbers: Home, Mobile, Work, Other
• Next of kin
• Disabilities/Medical conditions
• Test date (if booked)
The information taken for each booking should include:
• Time
• Date
• Pickup location (Ideally linked up with Google maps)
• Additional notes
The information displayed to each instructor should include:
• Time
• Date
• Pickup location (Ideally linked up with Google maps)
• Additional notes
• Amount owing
• Skills worked on last lesson
• Skills planned to be worked on this lesson
• Countdown of days to go for driving test (if already booked)
At the end of a lesson the instructor needs to fill out a structured lesson plan record. This will include which lesson plan was completed and which skills were covered, both the student and the instructor need to sign it. Payment amount and method should also be included.
The students account info should include:
• Person responsible for account and their address (e.g. student, parent, grandparent)
• Amount owing
• Lessons remaining on current package
• Amount paid
A feature should be included where the info for the day or week can be downloaded straight to the device for offline viewing in case of loss of internet access.
