This project involves integrating the Active Query Builder applet into my existing web application and building a metadata XML extraction routine by extending the data that is created through the existing Active Query Builder metadata generation file. Active Query Builder information can be found here: (<[login to view URL]> )to visually construct queries for our analytics application. ## Deliverables See attached document for a detailed description of project technical scope. Please also note the following: 1) Developer will be responsible for implementation of the new components described in the document (Java Applet integration & XML file generator). You will not be responsible for making modifications to the existing php application for this integration. Once the basic functionality is working on the test server, you will provide instructions to the application team who has implemented my existing php-zend application regarding the calls necessary to integrate the Java Applet into the web page (and provide any necessary assistance in integration trouble-shooting). 2) The Active Query Builder product manager told me that no more than a week of work should be required to implement this capability by an experienced Java developer who is new to Active Query Builder. The Active Query Builder product manager also indicated that he can provide technical guidance for the implementation of the foreign-key inference requirement described in the specification. 3) Access to a test Unix server (Debian/Lenny) will be provided for integration testing. Initial development should be performed on developer's systems. Developer will be responsible for installing any necessary Java components on the test server (Tomcat, etc..) and for providing a list of all installation and configuration commands required to re-produce install. All source code will be checked into a Mercurial Repository (hosted on Kiln). Other standard VWorker terms: 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement). 2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the employer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this project. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday Sep 7, 2010 5:15:09 PM: After extensive consultation with the Active Query Builder product manager, I have modified the scope of this project. I have removed the requirement to enable Active Query Builder to support a special parameter format ({param}) as it turns out that this would be very difficult to do. Please see specification document attached to the revised project description and set your bids according to the revised specifications and scope. Thank you for your interest in this project! Marius * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday Sep 8, 2010 10:19:54 AM: I just received the sample code from the Active Query Builder Product manager for dynamic modification of columns (attachment is posted to the project). They do auto-joins based on identical column names which is not exactly what I want (as we'd be joining on last_updated_by fields and other such non-key fields that are common across tables) but I think this provides a good starting point for applying the inference rules described in the specification. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Saturday Sep 11, 2010 10:18:45 AM: I had posted this project on Elance and Guru as well as vWorker and I decided to accept a bid I received from a provider on Elance. Thank you very much for taking the time to review my requirements and provide a bid. Marius ## Platform Server component to extract XML file from data source will run on Debian Linux (Lenny). Integration must work with Internet Explorer 8 & latest versions of Safari, Firefox & Chrome (on both PC & MAC).
