We have an ETL that is presently written in Java. It basically does this: 1) pulls data from 3 data sources (2 MSSQL and 1 ORACLE). 2) maps the data from each "stream" based on some basic rules. These are not overly complex 3) combines the three streams based on some keys 4) populates the target database What I need: Option A) Ideally, I would find someone who can do it all, end-to-end. I fear this might be difficult to find as there are not many Pentaho ETL developers who are also Java experts Option B) Alternatively, I would be happy with someone who can map out the workflow, in English. I see this taking the form of a flowchart/diagram, with some pages of written annotations. I have mini-samples of the 3 SOURCE databases and the 1 DESTINATION database for you to work with. And, of course, I have the original JAVA ETL code. The timeframe is short for this project. IF Option A, I would need it completed by Saturday, March 21st IF Option B, I would need it by Friday, March 20th (since I will then have to do teh actual Pentaho ETL myself)

i see you need this fast, in a few days, so its ok. i already work with ETL for datawarehouse, cubes, datamarts, and i develop in java using a good standar for that, using metadata, POO, ...

I am bidding on Option A) Deciphering the Java code and creating the ETL independently. I am presently employed as a full-stack Application Developer. My project for the last few days happens to be tracking down errors present in a MySQL database being caused by some bad Kettle (Pentaho Data Integration) ETL jobs/transforms (approximately 10,000 incorrect records were showing up out of 500,000 due to an incorrect sort left in by the Senior AppDev). Earlier this week I was implementing a search page for a different part of the same system using Java and Struts. I am very familiar with Java and Kettle having gone so far as writing plug-ins for it for both 4.x and 5.x versions and submitting bug-reports after painstakingly tracking down errors in their published (Java) source code. I will need to know which specific version of Kettle you are running, as the steps can behave differently, even between minor version numbers sometimes. I will also need to know which database system will be the target.
