HI! I am a mother that has had a GREAT idea for a children's book which has been well-received. I have completed my story and my book proposal, but now I'm looking to pay a creative artist / illustrator / animator to take a pass at preliminary illustrations to accompany each book page & the book's cover. The children's book will have est. 15 pages and thus the need for est. 15 illustrations. Images would need to be fun, colorful, life-like, and feature household objects, pets, nature, parents, children, home furniture, and have faces that show CLEAR EMOTION. PLEASE note that these will not be the final illustrations for publication, these are simply working drafts pending publisher's approval / notes. If publisher responds to initial drawings, you'd try to work out a new agreement for enhanced and more detailed work. I'm looking to pay a flat fee for this job. Job budget is between $500 - $2500 pending experience and willingness to collaborate, numbers of drafts. I am requiring that the person sign a NDA. Looking for a person with clear english skills for optimal communication and collaboration. Thank you.

What a wonderful project, I would love to participate in the creation of your book! I'm a mother too, and also a children's book illustrator and occasional comic book artist. I work in pencil, pen, ink, watercolours and gouache, so I can provide both black and white and colour. I prefer to work by hand, as I feel traditional illustrations communicate better and are more personal.
