Children's Book Illustrations - Japanese / Airbender-Style

This project is for a Japanese-themed / 'Avatar the last Airbender'-style children's book that requires 12-15 sketches of various characters, locations, and events. This will be a written text book with scattered images throughout. Each of the 12-15 pages of the project will require custom artwork by you based on my verbal descriptions and sample images/photos I can email you. I would like for 2 of the images to be full color (cover/back) and the others in a B&W line art/sketch-style. Collaborative communication between the artist and employer will involve agreement on the completion of each illustrated page and feedback for any needed revisions. As an example or typical description of a page I might request could be something like this, “Medieval Japan: From atop a mountain we look down on an large open prairie surrounded by trees. A group of armored horses, mounted by Samurai warriors, running across." or "A very old/ancient man in a robe stands holding a rustic oil lantern and cane. His face adorned with a long, white beard.". These are just samples, but close to what I'm looking for. Final descriptions will be given when illustrator is hired. The illustration-style desired is targeted to be suitable for young readers, ages 8 to 14. The best way to explain the style is to have you watch a couple of episodes of the Nickelodeon cartoon, 'Avatar - The Last Airbender'. Reading and writing in English is required for this project in order to collaborate on artwork details and ideas. I like to do most of my brainstorming/information swap via email so I can also include pictures and my poorly-sketched drawings. Each of the 12-15 pages must be drawn to fit a standard sized 8.5x11 paper. I will size then down to fit the book from there. The final digital format desired needs to be compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS4+, preferably in PSD format. Highest resolution JPGs can also be accepted if Photoshop is unavailable. This is a work-for-hire project whereas, all of the complete and final rights to the images will belong to the employer. The illustrator selected will be required to approve a sale of full copyright agreement to the employer, which will need to be completed and signed before the start of the project. The chosen illustrator will be given credit for the work performed and specifically named as the books illustrator, provided the picture book is chosen for final publication. The project will need to be completed within 45 days of the start date. Payments will be made using the Milestone Payment System. A partial payment of 33% will be released upon the completion and acceptance of the first 5 illustrations, another 33% after completion and acceptance of the the second group of 5 illustrations, and then a final payment of the remaining balance after the completion and acceptance of the final 2-5 illustrations resulting in the completion of the project. If the book is published, whether through a commercial or independent publisher, the hired illustrator will receive one copy of the book for each of the illustrated pages they draw as an added bonus (12-15 copies) so they can share their work with friends/family.
