A website that helps Apartment Owner's Corporations vote by circular resolution. The system tracks votes for particular resolutions, that are managed by a chairperson. Each user can be, but does not need to be an owner. Each corporation has a council (which is effectively its Board of Directors) and owners (who are joint owners of the corporation). Owners may belong to more than one corporation. Each corporation's council is comprised of a number of owners from that corporation. Each resolution made by the council is a result of a vote; certain votes must reach a threshold. The default vote is "majority" which is simply 50% of council. Other votes include "unanimous" which is all council members to vote in favour; "without dissent" which is no council member voting no before a time expires. The chairperson prepares resolutions for circulation. Resolutions contain two text sections; the context, and text of the resolution, date and time it was made. Resolutions may have multiple file attachments. When a resolution is prepared for a vote, an email is sent to all council members that shows the resolution context and text and provide links to the attachments. It asks them to vote yes, no, or abstain. A link in the email allows them to log in and view any comments from other councillors. The council member can respond to the email which will create a trail of comments on the particular resolution. If the Chairman updates the resolution, voting is reset, and the chairman can resend a new resolution for approval or rejection. A "roll" is maintained that captures records of each resolution, who voted for or against the resolution and whether or not the resolution was deemed carried. When voting outcomes are achieved (i.e. accepted or rejected) the chairperson is notified by email; along with any other parties noted on the default list for each corporation (for instance, the strata manager). The system invoices the owner's corporations a fee per owner per year.
