Here's the basic set-up. All animation.
15-second teaser. If this becomes a series, this will be customized to each episode.
45-second intro. If this becomes a series, this will be the same ("canned") every episode. Ends with the host audibly introducing himself with his caricature holding up a still color photograph of him. Smooth transition to opening of discussion with a guest.
Host introduces the guest as his host caricature holds up color photo of that guest and the guest caricature comes out to take a bow. Discussion between them ensues for eight minutes.
Second segment is eight minutes.
Third segment is eight minutes with 15-second end credits.
---
The discussion will be recorded in a sound studio and audio clip sent to the animation house.
As for what kind of animation I think would be a good fit for the show, I need it to be something that looks like it was just created as they're speaking. Not something fancy or expensive like Fantasia or The Incredibles. Something more rough and cheap. Something like chalk on a blackboard, color markers on a whiteboard, or stick figures on notepaper.
The animation visualizes what the host and guest are talking about. The host and guest are not pandering to the animation, but the other way around. Their caricatures are not mouthing what the host and guest are saying but silently taking control of the visual when their "talker" is talking. When switching from one talker to the next, the caricatures will visually erase all or part of the screen, jumping off the screen, and then the animation following what the person is talking about. The caricatures wouldn't "do" the drawing. Just the comic erasing and possibly a little fighting amongst each other, booting off each other off the screen, or such.
Pilot's animation will be of famous people (some living and most dead), locations around the world (past, present, and future), spacecraft (past and future), and Mars. If this is picked up as a series, what will need to be animated will be whatever the host and guest talk about for that episode.
Questions for bidders:
1) What kind of animation would you recommend for this show and why do you recommend it? Please provide links to animation you have done in that style.
2) How much will it cost and how long will it take you to produce the pilot? How much and long per episode if the show gets picked up by a network?
3) Who will do the animation? Are you a solo artist, will you assemble a team (if so, who will be on it), or are you part of an established animation house? Give links to portfolios.

Hi. My name is Paul Ross. I am an experienced freelance animator holding a degree in animation and creative media and 7 years experience in video and audio production. I think your idea is fantastic, an imaginative concept that will stand out from the crowd.
This is also a concept that appeals to the true animator. The freedom to unleash your interpretation and imagination upon a pre-determined structure.
I would be very happy to take on this exciting project.
Please see your PM box for examples of my work and more details.
