Hello I need 2 circuit boards designed to the below specifications: Must be able to connect & communicate to Raspberry PI (R-PI) via 40 way ribbon cable. Boards will need to be designed to support multiple boards “stacked”. With this in mind the boards will need to be equipped with i2c address jumpers. All inputs and outputs will need to be recognised by the R-PI including analogue inputs. R-PI model to be used: R-PI Model 3 MPCB (PCB1) • Digital inputs: 16x (use circuit similar to information in supporting document “DOC1”) terminating in screw terminals suitable for 0.5mm² cable. Input voltages from 12v to 240v. • Relay outputs: 10x outputs with mechanical relay with NO, NC & COM connections terminating in screw terminals suitable for 1mm² cables. • Analogue Inputs: 2x 4-20ma inputs @ 24v terminating in screw terminals suitable for 0.5mm² cables. • RS232: RS232 support for 2 way communication with connected devices. (please refer to supporting document “DOC2” • RS485: RS485 support for 2 way communication with connected devices. (please refer to supporting document “DOC3” • Temperature Sensor: support for DS18B20 temperature sensors terminating in screw terminals suitable for 0.5mm² cable • Power: this board will need a power supply area where the board can be supplied with 240v and this in turn will power the R-PI through the 40 way ribbon cable. • Real time clock & backup battery. • Provision for lipo battery for running R-PI for 10 mins and signal safe shutdown after 2 mins of power fail – Expected power usage 1000ma @ 5V. • Provision for cable to connect to below board: SPCB (PCB2) This board will need to be able to connect to the board above via ribbon cable or multicore cable. It will need to be fitted with ultrasonic distance measurement (2000mm to 200mm range) and also be fitted with an infra-red temperature sensor. The R-PI must be able to read the sensors. The board will be fitted into a harsh damp environment.

Hello.. I have more than 60 PCBs designed for raspberry and beaglebone under my seeed account. I have good experience with those. I estimate 110 hours designing and building a prototype for this. I have all the components to hit the ground starting right now. I prefer to go for one PCB, and if we are happy together we design the other.

Hi, I have over 10 years in designing hardware for consumer and industrial products. I have worked on motion control hardware in products like printers to solar tracker controllers. I also experience on various interfaces like USB, UART, SPI, I2C, RS232 & RS485 to name a few. Could you also provide some clarifications on the queries below, so that it will help me to understand the project better? 1) By multiple boards, will the RS485 be connected in a daisy chain mode of communication. 2) I understand that the RS485 will be the interface that runs from the hazardous external environment to the point where the Rasperry Pi Boards are running in a safe area (internal environment?) 3) So, Board 1 which has the 40 pin header & MAX2232 lies in the external environment? Board 2 which has the MAX481CSA IC for barrier isolation be the one that will be stackable to connect to many Raspberry Pi boards? 4) The power supply input will be on board 2 (and only one of the stackable boards). Board 5) Is lightning/surge protection (if not barrier isolation) not needed for all digital/analog I/Os?
