Create a service for geolocate data using rails

Actual situation:

Actually we have a huge quantity of data in our database, not have geocode required to find it in a service map like Bing and Google, affecting some applications.

General objective:

• Create a daemon with a scheduler to be executed in background, this will be a task to find out the geocodes in geolocation services to fill out the fields in ours databases.

Premises:

• The O.S where the daemon must be run is Linux, distro CentOS 6.x

• Development language must be Ruby.

• The daemon must be parameterized.

• Must be having the option to turn on/off the geocoders datasources.

• Must be having the option to configurate the scheduler for each geocoder datasource.

• The geocoders datasources in this phase of development are:

• Bing

• Google

Expected improvements:

• The daemon must be the capacity to define when a address has not been found in a reasonable time lapse, not waste a request in that address and retry in parameterized time.

Databases technology:

• SQL Server 2008 R2

Webserver technology:

• Apache + Passenger
