I have built a cover/void over the top of a cement swimming pool, to allow construction workers to walk on it during the building of a new house. The pool is 12m x 3m concrete. I have built a concrete floor board cover (19mm tongue and groove) on top of treated pine sleepers (3m x 200mm x 50mm). The sleepers are separated at 450mm centres.
