There is a server control which generates tree view of the organization. The input of this server control can be either the static XML file resides on the server or dynamic XML data passed to it at run time. If this control is added on aspx it generates the tree.
The aspx is an application that has the reference to this DLL (server control). I call the aspx as Caller program. I would like the caller program reads data from database and creates the XML on the fly and passes the XML to the server control. Aspx application (Caller program) should be able to read data from:
Access or SQL server or Oracle databases.
Connection string and other information related to the database is stored in the appsetting section of the [url removed, login to view] file of aspx program.
Reading data from database and generating the XML data should be in the class within [url removed, login to view] Caller program.
Here is the spec of the application.
1- Caller program consists of [url removed, login to view] and a class library and a reference to my treeview server control DLL. (\[url removed, login to view])
2- Caller program uses [url removed, login to view] file to read the connection string (is supplied by me) ([url removed, login to view] file will be supplied)
3- Caller program connects to database (sample \database\[url removed, login to view] is supplied) and generates the XML required by treeview server control. (You need to write this)
4- Caller program passes the XML information to treeview to generate the tree in the run time.
5- Caller program should use AJAX if needed for the performance.
6- Reading data from database should be reusable and in the class library called by Caller program.
This is part 1 of an application with total 4 more parts. If this goes well we go to the next step.
