We need to develop a program to work with a WiFi OBDII broadcaster. This device plugs in to a car's OBDII port and broadcasts a WiFi network containing OBDII CAN data (the car's error codes, how the engine is running, etc). We want the software to work with 3 different types of hardware which all broadcast the info via WiFi.
For our first project, we want to make a utility capable of scanning, identifying, and clearing OBDII trouble codes on BlackBerry. If successful, we will consider developing the same application for iPhone.
For our second project, we will make a utility similar to "Rev" for iPhone ([login to view URL]), allowing the user to log data during race track laps, show instant gauges of fuel consumption, MPH, RPM, Boost, Throttle Position, Fuel Pressure, Coolant temp, etc etc. This program will most likely include the first program's functionality (plus the added features), so we will want to work with the same developer.
SDK's for the hardware will be provided to the programmer, and assistance with GUI's as well, but I am not a programmer, so I will not be able to assist in the technical aspect. We need a competent programmer who can communicate with the hardware manufacturers, understand how to code such a complex program, and design a beautiful GUI for the end user, full of features. We also will require a license key system to be implemented.
