Since this is my research topic and I am in touch with it, I would be a good candidate for this project. My hourly rate would be $50 as this is a very niche topic. I have done my Masters in Bioinformatics from the UK and currently I am working as a bioinformatics PhD researcher in Germany...After my MSc I worked as a sequencing analysis specialist at the University of Edinburgh and my expertise lies in de-novo assembly and reference mapping of genomes. I can also do a huge range of down-stream bioinformatics analysis. I believe that I have excellent skills to do this project. Do get in touch if interested.

I am a current PhD student skilled in many bioinformatic methods. I have previously assembled a plant genome without a reference using Trinity. I also have experience aligning reads to a reference genome, although I specialize in RNA-Seq data (alignment and gene expression analysis). I have access to my own laptop, although it does have minimal memory and would not be advanced enough to assemble the genome locally. However, I am very proficient with Unix, and am extremely comfortable working remotely. If this is available to you, I would be able to assemble your genomes of interest remotely (e.g. through Galaxy). I am also comfortable explaining my work. I am currently the sole bioinformatician in my lab and enjoy explaining and teaching my lab mates the background to bioinformatic methods. My hourly rate is $25.
