I am a current PhD student skilled in many bioinformatic methods. I have previously assembled a plant genome without a reference using Trinity. I also have experience aligning reads to a reference genome, although I specialize in RNA-Seq data (alignment and gene expression analysis).
I have access to my own laptop, although it does have minimal memory and would not be advanced enough to assemble the genome locally. However, I am very proficient with Unix, and am extremely comfortable working remotely. If this is available to you, I would be able to assemble your genomes of interest remotely (e.g. through Galaxy).
I am also comfortable explaining my work. I am currently the sole bioinformatician in my lab and enjoy explaining and teaching my lab mates the background to bioinformatic methods.
My hourly rate is $25. As I am a student, as previously mentioned, I would be completing this work during the evenings and on weekends.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.
