…And I believe effective web copy is adherence to today’s web-content-style-guide. The research tells us what type of writing gets your message across to achieve the ‘clicks’ needed for success. It’s a constant battle that needs to be confronted.
I confront the challenge by keeping up with my education. This May 2015, I received a professional certificate in Web Writing and Social Media Communication from the University of Toronto. Now, I can recite almost every style-guide fact and opinion – verbatim (a style guide is a set of standards for the writing and design of documents).
I’ve written books, speeches, scripts, landing pages, questionnaires, EMAIL campaigns, blogs, and of course, all types of business material. Each word selected goes through an intense screening process, to insure all my clients get the right word, at the right time.
