Cognitive Biases Research Exercise (Psychology)

For this exercise, you will need to pick a bias from the list below and find 2 empirical research papers on that bias. You should look through all of them and pick something that sounds interesting. When searching for articles, do not just pick the first couple of articles. Some of them will not be directly relevant or as relevant as others, and some will link the bias to other phenomena which you may find interesting. Take a little time to investigate the bias more thoroughly. Send to me the articles as soon as possible when it is found and decided. Then, after, you will need to submit a 700-800 words summary that includes (a) a definition of the bias (with a source for the definition), (b) a brief description of the research reported in the two papers (c) an evaluation of studies, and (d) at least one example of a real-life situation where the bias can be seen to be operating. Preferably the example is one from your own experience (or that of one of your family, friends, etc) but one that you can plausibly imagine happening is acceptable. For part (c), the evaluation of the research needs to consider (i) how well-designed and conducted the studies are, (ii) how well do they relate to everyday experience and (iii) how important the particular bias might be in human thinking. You will need to make sure that your citations and references are according to APA standards. YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO CHOOSE ONE BIAS TO WRITE ON FROM THE LIST. It is a very simple and short task so my budget is only between $10- $25.
