This project requires a Buddhist person familiar with the relative
importance of of various important dates observed by Buddhist people.
My software already does (amongst other things), speaks a phrase each day to tell you something interesting about the current day.
For instance, for Christans it tells you "Tonight is Christmas Eve",
"Merry Christmas", "Happy Easter", "Today is Good Friday", etc.
My software is for humor and hearing newsfeeds, weather, and web content, and is not meant for serious religous messages or comprehensive
religious coverage. I just want to give Buddhists (or other religions)
the option to turn off Christian dates and hear Buddhist (or other religions')
dates instead.
Using a resource like [[login to view URL]][1], or other sources like wikipedia,
the goal of this project is for the coder to provide a pre-calculated list of
dates for the most important holiday/observance days. from 2011 to 2030.
For example,
Asalha Puja:
2011: July 15
2012: November 30
2013: July 30
etc
up to year 2030.
Provide a short appropriate speakable phrase in English, for each observance day. suitable to be spoken in the morning when a user typically turns on their computer, to tell them about the special Day.
For example
Asalha Puja: "Today is Asalha Puja."
( or a better phrase, please.)
See, just a short phrase, not explaining the meaning of it or what
people do on that day. Just a quick reminder that today is a certain day.
## Deliverables
As part of the work, explain to me, which days are important
and which days are only of interest to a subset of Buddhists.
I only want the important days done. Don't work on the lesser days that
only interest the subset. An equivalent example, for Christians
I'm only using Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday.
( and I'm not going to mention Lent, Advent, etc)
In cases where North Americans would use a different date than elsewhere, due to Lunar cycles, provide me North American dates, and a note explaining where other locations like Europe would be different.
You don't need to- and probably shouldn't-
explain everything in advance prior to bidding.
Finding the dates is not as easy as it seems. [[login to view URL]][2]
only provides exact dates up to 2017, but I need dates
up to 2030. So some research finding a better source or a formula
might be needed.
