Choice a health issue that is important to you and read each section at the top (Overview, Objectives, National Snapshot, National Data etc) and write a letter to the president or your representative about your chosen health issue. (Your letter should be at least one page single spaced; do not exceed 2 pages single spaced). Discuss why you believe it is an important issue to address. Use the information from the website to support your position. Use the Mod.14 Lib guide to find out if there is any legislation related to the topic; if there is, reference it. There is also information in the lib guide on how to write letters to congress. Some things to consider are: 1. Say why you are writing and who you are. List your "credentials." (If you want a response, you must include your name and address, even when using email.) 2. Be sure to clearly articulate the public health problem, why you believe it's important, and provide details. Be factual not emotional. Provide specific rather than general information about how the topic affects you and others. If a certain bill is involved, cite the correct title or number whenever possible. Use examples from the Healthy People 2020 website, information from any module of the course, and any other information you would like to reference (be sure to include references for this assignment - note that you may or may not include references in a letter to the President/your Congressperson). 3.
