This system was responsible for collecting and synchronizing the financial account transactions and balances of MS Money and Money Central users for display by MS Money software and Microsoft's website.
* Created dozens of data acquisition COM components in Visual Basic for the Voyager Platform. Data acquisition was done by emulating a user's session on a multitude of Financial Institution's websites and by programmatically deciphering, navigating, and reading the HTML.
* Responded to Microsoft's customer's support requests when they arose by tracing their respective transactions and reporting their success and repairing their failures.
* Enhanced the core processing components with a new Queue based logging infrastructure to assist error tracking across component boundaries.

Evolved the group into Media Productions product engineering, focusing our efforts on bettering the Broadband Streaming Media experience. Responsibilities: Direct the day-to-day operations of the engineering team, including task assignments, engineering and oversight, and making sure that they had all of the tools that they needed to complete a project. Continuous research on this evolving market, keeping ahead of the technology.
Notable Projects:
Event Tracking System - Web based Supply Chain and Event Management System written entirely in Enterprise Java/JSP using the Weblogic application server on Linux and MS SQL Server on Windows 2000 Beta. This system kept track of live webcasting events from initial customer inquiry through final execution. Tracked the contact information and necessary national and regional vendors needed to complete the customer's requirements, operational anomalies, estimated costs and final costs.
Heterogeneous Content Viewer - Two paned application developed in C++/MFC designed to mimic Digital Cable. The left pane showed a dynamic list of "channels" retrieved from a web server. The right pane could show Windows or Real Media streams as well as HTML content intended for E-Commerce Shopping Basket style capabilities.
Remote Encoding Platform - Software sentinel/DCOM Object written in VB designed to programmatically allow the remote control and operation of the Windows and Real Media encoding software from a separate workstation using a control application.
Automated Encoding Center - An application of the REP whereby a central storage and control station could automatically remote control several other stations running the REP and batch encode a video in several different formats for on-demand viewing given a set of parameters. Designed to eliminate most of the "hands-on" work of the whole encoding process as well as increase the capabilities and capacity.
Live Sync Slides - Programmatically tapped into the encoding software's ability to embed URL's with the video stream for the synchronization of changes to the viewer's web page with the audio or video - be it live or on-demand. Mockup generated for the Home Shopping Network for synchronization with their live Television Broadcast.
