I originally went to school for computer science, but ended up getting a degree in Actuarial Science instead. I currently have a full-time job at a major insurance company which allows me to combine these two skills sets. I also run a small business selling used books online. So, I am mainly here to apply my skills to fun projects. I know a variety of programming languages and have expert-level knowledge in MS Office products. On this site I have mostly specialized in two things: data scraping and writing. I have completed dozens of data scraping projects over the years, either for myself or for others. I am an administrator on Wikipedia where I have written around 300 articles, several of which have been officially recognized (through a peer review system) as "Good Articles"; that is, articles with a level of accuracy and quality prose that puts them in the top 0.1% of what Wikipedia has to offer.
