**Professional experience:
**8/2003 - Present
Creative Labs, Inc.
Stillwater, OK
Web Developer
ASP 3.0, HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, XML, VB 6.0, some C++
Currently help developing and maintaining Creative's e-store, <http://us.creative.com/>, intranet developents for admin control for content managements, and sales reports.
1/1999 - 3/2003
MPSI Systems, Inc.
Tulsa, OK
Software Engineer
VB 5.0 and 6.0, Oracle 7.x, Access/Jet 3.6 and 4.0, ADO 2.1-2.6, VBScript, HTML,
C#, VB.NET, [login to view URL], some ASP 3.0
Returned to MPSI to begin development on a new internal multi-user production data management software using VB 6.0, ADO and Oracle 7.x replacing the old 16 bit software they still had. Once completed, I immediately joined a small team of programmers to convert their existing client deliverable product (the 32-bit version in prototype mode) into a generic system that could be used in any region of the world - we upgraded the entire project to VB 6.0, but we did get rid of Oracle for a desktop product simpler to deploy (since most of the clients were not using client/server anyways). Using scripting technology and custom programmed interface designers (using VB 6.0, and a homemade script system), we let product consultants create the formulation scripts and screens they desired for each region without having to write separate deliverable software for each region. Recently completed an upgrade of a graphing package for another MPSI product; while the programming languages and technologies (VB 6.0, Olectra Chart, Access/Oracle/or SQL Server for the data end) did not change, the increase in performance was five-fold when I was done with the upgrade. Also assisted with consulting other departments on a ASP/Oracle project for a Japan client.
1/1998 - 12/1998
Commercial Financial Services
Tulsa, OK
Software Engineer
VB 5.0 and 6.0, MTS 2.0, SQL Server 7, ADO 2.0 and 2.1, FoxPro
Originally hired to perform R & D for a multi-tiered software system using VB 5.0 (eventually 6.0) and MTS and any backend database (SQL Server is what was actually used, however). With a team of 3 people, we eventually had a working prototype of new system framework, ready for the rest of the IT department to begin developing with. The framework was very similar to how .NET DataAdapters work today - allow developers to make specific business
objects with our programming interfaces, while front-end developers could use the object created without any regard on how the back end had to work. However, I spent the last 3 months (before the demise of CFS) doing intensive FoxPro programming merging a huge multi-user FoxPro app using FoxPro and SQL Server data sources.
5/1996 - 12/1997
MPSI Systems, Inc.
Tulsa, OK
Programmer Analyst
VB 3.0-5.0, Oracle, Access/Jet, DAO, PL/SQL, some Pro*C, some AIX C
Maintained software used by the production department to gather data for gas and convenience store outlets and associated statistical data using VB 3.0 & 4.0, Jet and Oracle. Used Pro*C and PL/SQL to write software and stored procedures to do statistical analysis on 1000s of outlets at a time. Eventually went to work on their deliverable product which helped clients to perform retail planning for their stores in a variety of markets around the world (which also used VB 3.0 & 4.0). Created the first true 32 bit software for MPSI, using VB 5.0 and Access for a desktop application, when all of their software for PCs
were still 16 bit.
8/1993 - 5/1996
CIS Technologies, Inc.
Tulsa, OK
Programmer
DOS MS C, Access 1.0 and 2..0, Oracle
Maintained a variety of localized software for medical insurance claims processing software. The system was mainly developed in DOS C by Microsoft. The "database" was a home-grown file system. Eventually designed a series of in-house tools with C to help greatly reduce
production time of software and internal databases used by other analysts. Ended my service at CIS by creating the initial design of a medical bill collection tracking tool used by CIS's Atlanta branch using Access 2.0 and eventually Access as a front-end and Oracle as a back end.
8/1992 - 8/1993
Dowell Schlumberger
Tulsa, OK
Programmer/Intern
VAX, C, Object Oriented technologies (Company made technologies)
Served as an intern for a year during my senior year in college. Began doing simple report maintenance, but eventually designed a highly customizable reporting and graph tool (with VAX C and an in-house object oriented design tool) for oil fracture monitoring software designed by Dowell Schlumberger.
**Independent Projects:**
5/2003 - Present
Web Functionality Development Lead
HTML/DHTML, ASP 3.0, JavaScript, SQL Server 2000, Flash/ActionScript
Developing a simple music delivery system for [login to view URL]. Users must be able to stream laylists of songs from [login to view URL] while have an administration area where artists can signup, enter information about them selves and manage/upload songs they have written. Administrators must be able to manage artist accounts and change site parameters. Currently using ASP, HTML, and JavaScript to design the interfaces and user interaction. Using SQL Server 2000 to store account, contact and song information. Using a Flash application to play music and track playlist changes to provide dynamic content about current music being played and links to artists' homepages.
6/2002 (and 11/2001 - Present)
Site Design and Development
First Incarnation: HTML, JavaScript, ASP 3.0, ADO, SQL Server
Current Incarnation: HTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Flash
Designed and developed functionality for musical group edgemeer. Site’s content is database driven so group member can add information and content without ever doing any HTML. Originally done with ASP and SQL Server; however, their new host had only PHP and MySQL, so the site was redesigned and data converted to use the new technology.
