This paper analyses the fallout to the real economy and fiscal measures implemented by governments to reduce the externalities stemming from COVID-19. It finds that capital flow dynamics during the pandemic have amplified the adverse effects of higher credit spreads on domestic exchange rates.

I investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the Cameroonian economy; noting the linkages between labor market outcomes, wage growth, and domestic consumption. The paper uses a data-driven approach to make actionable recommendations that will at once reduce the impact of the virus on the economy and place economic growth on a more sustainable trajectory.
