## BIO
EDUCATION \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---| Fall 2005 Northern Arizona University Flagstaff, AZ Computer Science Major > I earned the highest scores in my computer science course with little effort, and by the end of the semester had a tutoring position for CS and mathematics courses I had taken. \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---| Fall 2004 - Spring 2005 Arizona State University Tempe, AZ Computer Science Major > I was an excellent student in my computer science courses. INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES Hobby computer coding: graphical, mathematical, and network applications. I am proficient in Java, C++, IA32 assembly, in order of descending proficiency. I’m also familiar with various computer technologies such as what’s going on beyond the user-interface of network tools and games, the HTTP protocol, and how to keep a PC safe from malicious code – to name only a few. I can also proficiently utilize the WWW to perform various tasks involving communication, research, and education. Reading: mathematics history books, textbooks, fiction novels. Exercise: Mountain-biking, staying physically fit, bettering my diet, and practicing moderation. Repairing things that someone would normally throw out. Practicing kindness toward all living things down to the insect-level. Being politically aware, voting, arguing. Extracuricular-school: I avidly worked on problems of the week in the mathematics department at NAU. I won a geometry book for one of my solutions. I was a key member of the Verde Valley Robotics Team during my last year of high school. We won the Highest-Seeded Rookie Award for both the Colorado and Phoenix regionals. I single-handedly constructed an unbreaking gearbox for our robot’s lifting-grabbing arms using no more than a cross-cut saw, drill-press and a file; and was the lead programmer of our robot’s control logic (coding in C). Since I left for college, the team has already won first place in regionals. WORK EXPERIENCE \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---| Oct. and Nov. 2005 NAU Engineering Dept. Flagstaff, AZ Tutoring position for Data Structures and Algorithms course > Helped a student improve his grade in the couse and increase his Java and dev. environment skill. \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---| 2003-2005 Summers ADCOM Scottsdale, AZ > Shipping, Warehouse, and Maintenance Clerk > ADCOM is high-end audio and home theatre company with less than 10 employees. > I was paid hourly at a rate of $8.00 per hour. > Among my duties was also minor electronics work: voltage conversions of DVD players and Amplifiers for overseas sale. \---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---|\---| Summer 2005 - present David Rizik, MD Scottsdale, AZ Volunteer software assistance and development Converting a medical video format into an MS PowerPoint compatible format using open-source software. The presentations using the images were part of an international symposium on prototype trifurcated stint implantations (unblocking coronary arteries using a new technique). Currently working on a simple application to enable the doctor to perform the conversion process himself. The UI will be done with wxWidgets, and the back-end is open-source software connected via a command-line interface.
