Assessment Event 1 – Presentation (20%)
For this assessment, you are required to imagine you have been asked by your service to research and present information to staff regarding a particular risk factor that clients at your service might present with. You will need to:
* Select a particular risk factor (such as poverty, mental health or substance misuse issues, child abuse, trauma, etc) that families accessing the service are experiencing
* Research the topic using quality sources such as academic journal articles, government reports, textbooks etc and identify 8-10 current facts relevant to your topic. The focus needs to be on families who are experiencing these issues, and how you would provide information that would inform staff of the possible impact of the risk factor on families.
* Create an online presentation with voiceover. You can use any presentation tool e.g. PowerPoint or Google slides, however you will need to use a screencast tool to record the voiceover, which will convert it to a video format (See the How to Guides on the course home page). Upload your video to your YouTube channel.
Do not put all your information on the slides, but expand on your information through your voiceover.
* However, you will need to provide a reference list as your last page of the presentation. You do not need to provide a voice-over for the reference list.
Length: Max. 750 words or 10 minute video
Weighting: 20%
