Application to automate functions of video recording devices (OSX or Linux)

Hi- I work on large corporate conferences, shows with many breakout sessions. I specialize in recording all these sessions at once, using a new box that sites in each room and takes all the source feeds. The box runs a flavor of linux, and can be controlled via a HTTP API. Imagine if you would a large conference, with 30 rooms, all taking place at once, and there is a box in each room. Currently I would have to manually start/stop/add metadata to each box via the web interface. Given that many sessions are of different length, its very tough to do this without errors. What I need it a scheduling tool, that i can load up with a spreadsheet of session data (session name, room, start time, end time, title, copyright, description, etc) and have the application send an HTTP request to the right box to perform the appropriate action. I would also have a spreadsheet that would have room names that correspond to IP address, the boxes are all statically addressed. The application can run on linux or Mac (preferred), and should have some graphical interface so i can see what sessions are currently recording, and which have finished. The app should also allow for a start and end buffer, which would add time to the start and end (we trim the files after), but i would likely make that part of the import spreadsheet to account for control of each session buffer time.
