Sticky feature - Needs to be coded to subcategory

On our website [login to view URL] currently wordpress has an "sticky" option and once checked/chosen, any add (listing) with sticky feature will go on top of the search page. This is like a featured add.
The problem is it will always be on top of search page, does not matter which category or subcategory is chosen (example sticky Construction machine listing will be on top of search page even if we choose cars category - see attached).
We need sticky listing to be on top of page but only under appropriate main category (at least) or one of sub categories.
