Hello! Saw your documentation. Actually you only need 3 or 4 tables : Publications Authors Clusters Journals Not too sure what your table fields are, but we can figure it out along the way. You can have a field of authors in your publications and link them relationally. Same for clusters. I may be wrong, but perhaps you can also combine publications and journals together, and just have a field indicating the type of publications. Are you looking for only CodeIgniter work to be done, i.e., create APIs that the front-end is going to consume, or does it include front-end stuff like User Interaction too? I would use CodeIgniter for backend/database stuff, and a front-end framework like AngularJS and Bootstrap or Semantic UI as a full-stack solution. I do web and mobile app development using mainly CodeIgniter as backend.
