Hi, I have 5 years experience in MySQL. what you are looking for can be achieved making use of replication feature. however there would be some constraints in the target db. also replication has to happen over internet ie between source and target db honestly I have not done this in MYSQL but I know the steps involved in configuration as I have done more complex replication in Sybase ASE (initial version of MSSQL) and the concepts are almost same. What is the cut-over/switch-over time you are planning? if this is few days then we can go with normal connection. if this is going to be longer direction then we may to have to think of secured connection for which more configuration would be required. this quote is assuming normal connection further details can be worked once the project is finalised regards Babu
