Your first step "Webcam calibration" can be done by OpenCV easily. And in "Projector calibration" step, I think you can get conversion matrix on two ways. First, by simply detecting four border points in checkerboard, conversion matrix can be obtained directly. And second, from all crosspoint in checkerboard and corresponding points, conversion matrix can be obtained by using RANSAC algorithm. These functions are all in OpenCV.
