I have thousands of resumes that I need to put into a standardized format. I seek proposals on how this can be done via your bid and we can then implement your proposal. We will need to also develop instructions for data entry clerks to follow. The data we need to extract: name, address, employers, full details of each job, education, full details of each educational qualification, hobbies, languages spoken, awards, publications, citizenship status, presumed country of origin, and presumed country of current residence. Each resume will also need to be classified as a type (e.g. Type A, Type B, Type C) depending on specified characteristics. We have various non-functional requirements: we need to ensure data integrity (e.g. prevent importing the same resume twice), ensure correct allocation of work (e.g. ensure we don't get more than one person to work on the same resume), ensure traceability (e.g. ensure that we can see the original resume and what the data inputted is). Ideally we will use an off-the-shelf solution that allows us to have the resume on the left hand side of the screen and the data entry on the right hand side of the screen. It will have full user administration capability to address all our needs. Failing that, I think MS Access is a potential option as it allows us to have a main table with the individual's details and allows us to link that with tables for employment (as a person may have 0 or more jobs), education (as the person may have 0 or more qualifications), etc. I am open to ideas and look forward to obtaining proposals!

Hi - I am an experienced Access developer and run my own small IT agency in Durban, South Africa, where I create and maintain Access systems, which is the core of my business. I have also successfully completed several Access projects here on Freelancer. My special interest in this project is that I have recently done work for two employment agencies in South Africa and assisted with their applicant information. In one instance I provided support for an existing system, and in the other I created a system from scratch, which allows for the main CV information to be captured, as well as various previous employers. The system also allows for the original CV received from each applicant, along with supporting documents such as school and tertiary certificates, to be linked to each applicant's database record. Some of my past projects involved creating system for users with very basic or even no computer skills or literacy, where the challenge was to make the system as user-friendly as possible so that they could use it easily and with confidence. This user-friendly interface is customary to all my systems. I aim to establish long-term relationships with my customers as I realise that circumstances and requirements may change and I remain on standby even once a system has been delivered. Hi, I would like to do this job. Better way to do this is use an Ms. Access database and extract resumes as reports. so that you can get all the resumes in one format. For entering data either we can use excel or access. I think Excel is better so that we can enter all the data immediately and import the database to access and run the resumes at once. thanks
