I am not a specialist in multi dimensional databases but I understand the concept and I think this should be suitable to be used in this case. This can be transport also as relational database, it depends about your exactly data types which are stored there. The connectivity with your printer can be done using its driver and a C (this is what I know) application whch will interact also with the cloud solutions. The unique code can be easily done.
